Tap Sets are used to cut thread into a pre-drilled hole, creating a clean fitting for bolts to enter. They consist of 3 parts:
- The Taper is used first. It has the thinnest end, so it enters the hole more easily, especially when tapping by hand
- The Second is used next and has a slightly larger end
- The Plug is used last and has the thickest end. It is mainly used for blind holes (where the drilled hole doesn't go all the way through the metal) because they often need to have a consistent thread throughout the whole length of the hole
- Suitable for use in mild steel and non-ferrous metals
- Manufactured to DIN352 standards
- Please note other sizes are available on request.
